it didn't work. All I know now is that I need a non-DirectShow-based AC3/DTS decoder, if they even exist. since your AVI file was created with a non-supported xvid codec, the audio is not going to work properly Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions Go to original post Actions More Like spmurphyDecember 17th, 2008, 07:42 PMOk, I rebuilt ffmpeg and mplayer so they're both current. have a peek at this web-site

Unless you're suggesting I migrate to 2-channel audio, because if so that's not something I'm willing to do. I checked with the avidemux and then I found that the audio codec is set as "Unknown". http://www.videohelp.com/tools/GraphStudio. http://sonoportal.net/error-cannot/error-cannot-read-video-or-audio-stream.html Unfortunatley, that's what frequently happens and for various reasons. As John said, the DIVX/XVID codec is not supported in Premiere Pro.
Matroska file format detected. So, getting the file to be imported as 5.1 will be the way to fix this. Never used ffdshow so not sure if there are any settings I need to fool around with.
