Close Firefox. It gives me the option to open the document directly or save it--this is what I have preferences set to do. You can disable all your extensions, to see if one of them was the problem. I went back to ver 18.x until this is fixed. PDFs are set to preview in Firefox. Interestingly, I CAN open PDFs that come to me or that I send through Gmail. Of course, not a practical solution for other people.
It does now show up in Add-ons - Extensions. Why does Firefox open a blank tab, and then close it right away? That could indicate that Firefox performed a "Refresh" during your update, either because of a problem in your settings or if you clicked a button to solve Firefox being slow.
